LUCKNOW : The city witnessed aspurt in dengue over the past three months. With 39 new cases on Saturday, the total number of cases in the last 21 days reached 700, an average of 33 cases per day.

The city has witnessed a 7% rise in the number of cases than September (652 cases). Meanwhile, a patient succumbed to the infection this month. Health officials say the situation is likely to continue till mid-November.
Officials said, of the fresh cases, nine were serious and admitted to various hospitals following low platelets counts.

Others are recuperating at their home.The cases were recorded from community healthcare centres of Aishbagh-3, Aliganj-4, Chandernagar-4, Chinhat-5, Indiranagar-5, Sarojininagar-3, Itaunja-1, Malihabad-2, NK Road-2, Red Cross-3, Silver Jubilee-4 and Turiaganj-3.

“Hospitals have been asked to make all the necessary arrangements,” said chief medical officer Dr Manoj Agrawal.
